Application
Chemical industry
Castor oil has been used to obtain alkyd and epoxy resins, alizarin oil enanth aldehyde, undecylenic acid and sebacic acid. Used as the polyol in the polyurethane producing reaction.
Lubricants
Use as a lubricating oil.
Liquids for hydraulic drives
Fluid based on castor for hydraulic brakes cars. Used in brake systems only with drum brakes (trucks and cars older models, such as GAZ-24).
Medical applications
Castor oil is the basis of a number of ointments and balms (including Vishnevsky ointment).
Castor oil is used as a means to strengthen the hair.
Food processing industry
In food industry, castor oil can be used as a separating agent. Registered as a food additive E1503.
